Where it all Began
Lucie has been working as a professional maker since 2002. Her passion for toy making began as a small child when she received a book on how to make soft animals. She began pattern making as a hobby which soon led to a career in costume making for theatre and film. Lucie began to make small collectable animals in her spare time and dressed them in victorain inspired outfits. Through the success of these adorable animals she decided to start a small company from a workshop in her garden and so Cottage Creatures was born.
How they are made
Each creature is made with great care and attention. Their eyes are safety eyes and noses and mouths are embroidered. All fabrics that are used are of the highest quality and are brought from both London and Germany. Their outfits are made from a collection of different materials, some contain buttons and other small items. Cottage Creatures are not toys they are collectables and therefore not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
They are filled with both plastic beads and wadding. The beads give each character a good weight and allow them to sit correctly.
It is best to hand wash if necessary.
All designs are copyright of Lucie Longford.
Not recommended for children under 3 years of age due to small parts.
